St. Paddy’s Day was a good day…well, up until walking group and then I’m not sure what happened!!

We had a good lunch drunk a little beer and then walked back to the office.  It was difficult to try and work the rest of the day the weather was so incredible and the NCAA tournament had begun.  Thank goodness there is a TV in the kitchen…so, needless to say, I made several trips to the kitchen to check out scores and see bits and pieces of the games.

My brackets are doing pretty well…okay, 4 of the 5 are doing well, thus far.  I loved that there were a couple of upsets yesterday, which did wreck some havoc on a couple of my brackets but things should smooth out after today’s games and then depending on how the weekend games go.

The derelict attorney left for depositions out of town on Tuesday at noon and is not due to return to the office until next Thursday the 24th…unless Notre Dame moves into the Sweet Sixteen.  The youngest secretary, who is this guy’s secretary, can’t keep her ass in her chair to save her life…she’s hoping Notre Dame will keep winning, that way her attorney won’t be back for even longer.  I told her that while I appreciate where she’s coming from, for my brackets’ sake, Notre Dame needs to loose in the second round…in other words, I don’t want them going to the Sweet Sixteen.  I’m just not a fan of Notre Dame and have not been impressed with how they’ve been playing…so, we’ll see.  I know she’s hoping they will win and go far…not that she has a clue about the NCAA tournament other than it’s basketball and it’s going on right now…

Anyway, I’m enjoying the tournament and look forward to the weekend full of basketball!!!

Now, what happened during/after walking group is beyond me.  I started feeling really tired as I stretched and waited for the rest of the group to get there.  I got so tired that I had to sit down…no pains, just extremely tired.  Once everyone met with their various groups, we prepared to head out to walk…well, I quickly realized there was no way I could keep up with my group, so I dropped down to the slowest walking group.  I really struggled even in that group…we went 2.7 miles, I thought I was going to die…my legs felt like cement blocks, my arms and leg muscles were starting to get sore…we finished the walk, though it was a struggle.  We did our stretches and I couldn’t get back to my car fast enough…

I felt all achy and sore all over my body and extremely tired.  I was concerned I would make it home okay…which I did.  I grabbed some more water, grabbed the blood pressure cuff and went straight for my lounger. I did take two aspirin before I settled in to take my blood pressure, which was up…I felt so tired and worn out…not really sick or nauseated, more like I had been hit by a truck…my pulse was really racing, which is never the case…it was 112 after driving home and sitting for a little while…that’s crazy, my resting rate is usually about 70…my blood pressure was definitely up…so, I laid back the lounger and tried to compose myself…I just wanted to sleep…I turned on the basketball games and thought about what I wanted for dinner, but nothing sounded good…not that I had the strength to fix or eat anything.

I took my blood pressure again a little later and it was coming down.  I was feeling a little bit better, but oh so tired.  Needless to say, I fixed a little dinner, at a little Cherry Limeaid Shorbet and then went to bed.  I was in bed by 9:00 p.m.
I tried to watch more games, but was just out of it.

I’m really not sure what the deal was…at least, there was no pain, I was just extremely tired.  My muscles all ached like I had had a hard workout, which I really didn’t, I didn’t really feel like I had pushed myself, especially dropping down to the slow group…frustrating to say the least!!!

I feel better this morning…still really tired but I’ve used up all my sick days over the past couple of months so I have no choice but to go to work today…If I get to feeling too bad, I will come home and take unpaid time off…but hopefully, I’ll be able to push through the day and get home to kick back and watch the basketball games.

One thought I kept thinking while walking…I’ve got to learn to honor my body more.  I’ve got to figure out a way to afford taking care of myself and getting in the best shape and health I can…why do I have to go broke in the process????  Something to seriously ponder!

Have a great Friday ahead…there’s a cold front pushing through about noon today that is supposed to cool temps off to a high of only in the 60s today…the lows are only going to dip down into the lower 50s, so that’s good.  It got up to 85 yesterday.

Happy Friday…have a great weekend ahead.
