Today is the last Monday of the month of August, 2010. This is the first day of my new job, a new chapter in my work life. I’m excited…a little apprehensive, but ready to get back into the game of life.
Schedule wise, I think that will be the most difficult…not because I’ll have a set time to go to work, it’s the quitting time that has me in awe…my hours will be 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. What a difference!!! I was told there would be very little overtime…how in the world will I ever adjust?
The quitting time of 5:00 p.m. will give me enough time to get home, change my clothes and get to walking group two evenings a week…I joined the Fall training program yesterday…I had to commit to hold myself accountable for continuing my progress and hopefully, to do another 5k or 2 or 3…though the humidity levels are supposed to return packed with heat this week…it couldn’t be any worse than what I endured through the heart of the summer.
I had a little trouble waking up this morning…I couldn’t sleep worth a crap…I was worried that I would oversleep since I’ve had such a lazy 30-days…but I am up, getting ready to jump in the shower and get the day underway. Today I graduate from the millions of folks that are currently unemployed…I’m grateful to have found a job…now, let’s see if I can live up to the image this firm has of me.
Have a great Monday ahead!!!
