As I was shoveling the ice and snow off of my driveway and then my front sidewalk…I decided my elderly neighbors needed their sidewalk shoveled so they could go and get their morning paper without stepping through the deep snow…not to mention navigating the ice on their front porch and steps.
I got it all done and was heading home when the wife opened the front door and hollered out to me thank you. I was glad to have done something so little for them…I asked if they needed anything, that I would be happy to go to the store, but she said they were fine. She thanked me again for shoveling off the sidewalk.
I made my way across the ice-slick street…there’s no way I’m going to get out unless I absolutely have to…which is liable to be Monday morning when it’s time to go to work.
So, does all this ice and snow bring out the best in you or the worst?
